The Hull subteam is responsible for the design, construction, and testing of the boat hull and cockpit. The hull is the largest component of the build and is made using fiberglass layers with a foam core. We create a mold using high-density foam, which is then used as the layout for the fiberglass sheets. We also spend time constructing the dashboard, transom frame, and keel. Calculations are performed to ensure the desired buoyancy, distribution of weight, and strength of the hull.

Tylor Webb (’23), Emily Logan (’22), and Dohun Kim (’22) sanding the mold for the 2021 hull.
